Naseer Ahmed has joined MIED School Improvement Program (SIP) Ghizer, as Project Manager. He was affiliated with World Wide for Nature Pakistan from 2002 - 2012, as project manager and project coordinator and as acting Head at WWF–Pakistan, Gilgit-Baltistan.
His major responsibilities include, team building and provide technical support to field staff. Capacity building of NGOs, Village/Women Organizations (V/WOs) through Human Institutional Development (HID) approaches and skills enhancement of local committed Mountain Entrepreneurs (MEs) and established Networking Forums of MEs. Liaison with Government departments, Aga Khan Development Network and other local NGOs for community development. Provide technical support in NRM related activities i.e. resource assessment surveys; block plantation and community social forestry in the project area. Provide support in establishing Community Endowment Fund and devise mechanism for its proper use. Ensure that the project resources are used as per allocated budget line with in the time frame. To update Director WWF- P, GB and donors on project progress from time to time. Responsible for implementation of Project work plan and technical report writing of field activities. Provide in put on HID related activities in other projects as well.
He also worked for Aga Khan Rural Support Program for couple of years as HR officer & Social organizer.
Having management experience in rural development he served in governance of Aga Khan Education Services from 2000-2002, as Chairman Regional Education Board for Punial and honorary director from December 13, 2005-July 10, 2009.
Naseer did his MA in Pakistan studies from Pakistan Studies Centre, Karachi University in 1990 and MA in International Relations in 1992, as external candidate. He is conversant in almost all the dialects spoken in Gilgit-Baltistan. Being a casual angler he is fond of high altitude fishing.
